The second season premiered with an exploration of Devi Vishwakumar’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s) increasingly complex love triangle.
On Thursday, viewers saw Devi navigate her feelings towards Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), and Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) when the show returned. The story had come full circle by the end of the season when Devi chose Paxton over Ben.
After a long rollercoaster ride, Devi and Paxton finally made their relationship official. It began when Devi was secretly dating Ben and Paxton. Although Devi and Paxton initially were on the outside after the revelation, they soon developed a friendship through her tutoring him and a brief hookup.
Paxton made Devi his girlfriend during the last moments of season 2. They entered the dance hand-in-hand and caught the attention of their classmates, including Ben, who seemed confused and upset. (Eleanor Wong (Ramona Young), Devi’s friend, told Ben that Devi initially chose him over Paxton and then decided to date both of them at once.
Ben was now with Anesa Qureshi (Megan Suri), an Indian American teenager that Devi had initially viewed as a threat, before becoming friends with her.
But, Ben’s longing gaze at Devi and Paxton at their arrival at the school dance raises the question: Are there still fans rooting for Devi?
Ramakrishnan (20 years old) tells PEOPLE that everyone knows that it’s not the end for Ben and Devi. “Like we all know that. There is no way.
Lewison also believes that “it is most certainly not” between Devi and Ben.
The 20-year old says that there is so much to be explored in season 3, which will focus on Ben’s struggle with the Devi-Paxton relationship and Anesa’s relationship.

Lewison states, “I think we don’t know how Ben will handle this.” “That longing glance at the end, it seems that he has an immense inner conflict between Devi’s feelings and his own. He isn’t going to shut off because it’s impossible.”
Barnet explains that Paxton’s character would have a girlfriend, which is new territory for him.
To be honest, I don’t believe he has ever had one. Barnet, 30, says that he’s always played the field. “There’s also so much to weigh in [in terms] of his friends, who [are] not behind it all.”
Barnet also noted that Devi and Ben have a certain level of compatibility and that there are “so many things to consider” for the third season. He adds that he strongly doubts that the show is over.
Mindy Kaling, Lang Fisher, and Lang Fisher created Never have I Ever. It premiered on Netflix in April 2020. The series follows Devi, an Indian American teenager, as she navigates high school life.
Ramakrishnan claims that even though the show’s story revolves around the Devi–Paxton–Ben love triangle but she ultimately supports “Team Devi.”
Ramakrishnan states that Team Devi is the best team in the Team Ben and Team Paxton scenario. It is a love triangle. Tri, which means three, is also known as. Or triangle. She is the greatest point.”
Devi also has Lewison to support her. He says that he finds pieces in both men that she needs for personal growth, and that she helps them as well.
Season 2 of I Never Have I Ever can be viewed on Netflix.
