After season 2 of the thriller series, You premiered on Netflix in 2019 fans began eagerly awaiting its third season. The last season finished with a scent of expectations that hinted of a brand new year, a new mystery, a new storyline as a whole. What’s With The Delay of You Season 3?
With Netflix previously revealing that You 3 will premiere for certain the filming of this series with its creative team, cast and crew were to start in the spring of 2020.
But, what was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. They had to postpone it for six months. Production reportedly resumed in February 2021.
The filming has wrapped. On the last day of filming, Sera Gamble shared with a Twitter thread. Though it was not confirmed whether You 3 was constantly likely to be released in late 2020 or 2021, it appears now that it is likely to be postponed from the time we had been expecting it to happen.
What Is The Release Date of You Season 3?
Ted Sarandos announced some information regarding the release during the Netflix Q1 earnings forecast. It is supposed to be released in the last quarter of 2021 i.e in October, November, or December.
The series has been a hit for the last two seasons. Netflix has released the 2 seasons of this series between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. If Netflix follows this tendency with this one too, then we are expecting a release of You season 3 between Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2021.

We can expect another release date too. Together with the production ended in April 2021 along with how things are going currently, it may even happen a lot earlier. As we have seen, the time between the wrap-up and its Netflix release date is significantly shorter than it was previously.
We’re getting to see Outer Banks, Atypical, Cobra Kai, Money Heist, along with a few other new shows rather earlier than we expected. So, that’s an indication that You season 3 can be released in October or November.
Although rumors are spread due to a fan poster the season is arriving from November 2021, nothing is confirmed yet.
