One of the most happening anime based on Viking stories Vinland Saga is set to return for a new season. The show is adapted from the famous Japanese manga of the same. The manga was famous among young adults. The show is produced by Wit Studio and was first aired in July 2019. The anime has adapted the first 8 parts of the manga series.

The show features Yūto Uemura as the voice of Thorfinn who is the protagonist and Naoya Uchida as the voice of Askeladd who is the antagonist of the show.

Plot

Real historic events in 1013 AD England provides inspiration for the story. The King of Denmark had conquered the whole of England.

Thorfinn as a child heard the stories of Vinland a place he literally considered a warm paradise as he grew up in Iceland. He was the son of a warrior and knew how to fight for his rights. Vikings had soon taken over England. A war broke out between England and the Danes. The Vikings turn out to be gruesome as ever. A Viking leader brutally murders Thorfinn’s father. Now, Thorfinn is all set to take revenge for his father’s death. Killing Askeladd becomes his main mission.

Release Date

Even though the makers have not officially announced any release date, the director of Vinland Saga has teased a second season via his tweet.

However, sources have revealed that the show will premiere only in the fall of 2022. This is a long time after the first season, nevertheless, fans of this anime are eagerly awaiting its official release date.
