Jennifer Connelly plays the part of Maverick’s love interest, Penny Benjamin, who is a single mother, a bar owner, and the daughter of an ex-admiral. The role of Vice Admiral Cyclone, Glen Powell, is played by Jon Hamm as “Hangman” a pilot.

Top Gun: Maverick was originally supposed to be to released on July 12, 2019. The sequel was supposed to be pushed over a little to “allow the production to work out all the complex flight sequences” but then it was pushed further because of COVID-19 and scheduling conflicts, the COVID-19 has affected the film as well as TV industry and has delayed many movies and TV shows. Top Gun: Maverick is going to be released on 2 July 2021. Tom Cruise in a post on his Instagram wrote ” I know many of you have waited 34 years. Unfortunately, it will be a little longer.”
