Hit American show ‘The Twilight Zone’ may return for a season 3 on CBS All Access after season 2 released on 25 June, 2020. This show is based on the original television series of the same name which aired in 1959 and was created by Rod Serling. Simon Kinberg, Jordan Peele, and Marco Ramirez are the developers of the 2019 version of the show. ‘The Twilight Zone’ is an anthology and Jordan Peele himself narrated it.
The show also had a star-studded cast including Morena Baccarin, Gillian Jacobs, Jurnee Smollett, Damon Wayans Jr, Kumail Nanjiani, etc.
What Is The Show All About?
As mentioned earlier, The Twilight Zone is an anthology. Which means every episode will have a different story with different characters. Although, the genre remains similar. The stories have varied genres which include dystopia, science fiction, suspense, horror, supernatural drama, black comedy, fantasy, psychological thrills, etc. The show defiantly gives us Black Mirror vibes.
In season 2 the stories varied from a hotel manager finding people standing still after an object passes in the sky. Another story in which a man hears the voice of a woman in his head and a bank robber who is able to change bodies by looking at people in the eye. The final episode had a woman ordering for a mysterious egg to arrive at her door step.
Rod Sterling (creator of the 1959 series) had once quoted, “There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call The Twilight Zone.”
Release Date
Some reports were speculating that season 3 will release shortly after season 2 aired on 25 July 2020. As CBS announced season 2 while season 1 was on the air. However, As the coronavirus pandemic has tormented the world. It hit the entertainment industry too.
Season 3 may or may not release this year. However, there was news that season 3 might release in spring 2021.
