Star Trek was perhaps the most impactful series on auto freak. Seth MacFarlane, a long-time fan of Star Trek, created and stars in an hour-long comedy-live-action spoof called “Star Trek: The New Generation” to pay tribute. Orville thought that the “New Star Trek” was an attempt to fill the gap left by Trek’s beloved show. The ability to mix science and fiction with drama, action, and mystery is a talent in its own right, and Seth and John Cassar appear to be highly skilled at it.
Everything has changed since the future was set 400 years ago. The Earth is now part of an expansive avant-garde civilization known as the Planetary Union. This is mostly peaceful. When Ed Mercer finds his wife cheating, his life is thrown into disarray. After going through a difficult divorce, he finds himself in deep pain. He lands the dream job of a U. S. S Orville pilot, one among 3000 ships. His hope is renewed. He is looking to prove his worth and this job fits the bill perfectly.
Unfortunately, his luck does not hold as his ex-wife Kelly Grayson was appointed First Officer. Ed builds a strong crew, which includes humans and other aliens. He is accompanied by Gordon Malloy who is his best friend.
The show has been nominated for many awards like the Primetime Emmy Awards (2019), Saturn Awards (2018 and 2019), International Film Music Critic Awards (2018 and 2020), where it won numerous times.
Expected Cast
Seth MacFarlane plays Captain Ed Mercer. Adrianne Palicki plays Commander Kelly Grayson. J. Lee is Lieutenant Commander John Lamar. Scott Grimes is Commander Gordon Malloy. Mark Johnson portrays Isaac. Jessica Szohr is Lieutenant TallaKeyali. Anne Winters will join the cast as Charly, an actor who is a regular member. Eliza Taylor, an actress, may also make an appearance but it is not yet confirmed.
Expected Storyline
We don’t know much about the plot for the upcoming season. However, the creator revealed that there would be dramatic storytelling and an unexpected turn of events. Fans will notice that new episodes will preserve the same quality of the original seasons’ top-rated episodes “Identity” or “Pt. We will continue to witness them grow and change. However, we can be sure that it will not be the same as what we had hoped.
Rumoured Release Date
It is not yet known when the movie will be released, but it is likely to be available for purchase by September 2021. Like many movies and tv shows around the world, production on the Orville was also stopped by the global pandemic. The show was originally scheduled to air in late 2020. But production was delayed to the 1st of December 2020. Filming was moved to the 4th of December for safety reasons. The show was canceled again on 18 January 2021 due to an increase in Los Angeles cases.
The show has been moved from Fox to Hulu and 11 episodes have been released with 12-15 minutes more than normal air time. Unfortunately, no trailer or teaser of the new season has been released. The Orville Season 3 will be available by December 2021, according to the crew.
