It appears that The Last Kingdom has had its conduct and could be finishing with the fifth season. The British historical drama show, which originated in 2015 on BBC America and BBC Two, has had a very successful term with an 8.4/10 IMDb rating and a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What is The Last Kingdom Season 5 about?

The TV series is based on The Saxton Stories, a historic book series by Bernard Cornwell. It revolves around Uhtred, the successor of Saxon, who’s captured by the Danes who raise him as a member of their own and eventually opt to put his loyalty to the evaluation. The show mainly concentrates on the Kingdom of Wessex’s battle against Viking incursions.

Is The Show Coming To An End?

The fourth season premiered in April 2020 and shortly after the show had been renewed for one more year in July. As per a Deadline file, the season, which is currently being taken in Hungary, will be the series’ last installment.

The upcoming season will accommodate the 9th and 10th books of Cornwell’s series and similar to the past two seasons, the fifth part would also comprise a total of ten episodes. The season will see Uhtred facing his”greatest enemy” and suffering from great loss.

The Last Kingdom Season 5: Cast

Along with several members who would be returning for the season, the fifth setup would also see new faces onto the monitor. Patrick Robinson will be joining the team Father Benedict who’s a sacred man albeit having a troubled past. Sonya Cassidy would also feature in the new season as Eadgifu, an open-hearted newcomer in Winchester.

Furthermore, Alexander Dreymon, who plays the part of Uhtred, would be directing one of the episodes in the new season.
