What is the plot of The Dragon Prince Season 4?
Season 4 will pick up sometime after the battle the elves and humans fought over the titular dragon prince. Details are sparse as of now, but co-creator Aaron Ehasz did tease the imprisoned mage Aaravos, whose strange caterpillar form just entered metamorphosis, will be central to the story. Ehasz told Inverse in 2019, The next two seasons are all about knowing that Aaravos was, who they believed Aaravos was, how they understood what was happening, and imprisoned him… The objective of healing and rebuilding the world is going to be a hard one, and especially a difficult one when Aaravos, who may have been one of the mysterious forces that pushed the world into this circumstance, today looks on the cusp of returning or trying to come back to the world.
He has been a manipulative antagonist up to now, getting the human dark mage Viren to do exactly what he wants. Presumably, he’ll only gain power after his caterpillar form emerges out of its cocoon. With him at the end of Season 3 is Claudia, Viren’s daughter, who Ehasz said will become a critically important driving force of the narrative in Season 4. Furthermore, co-creator Justin Richmond said the forthcoming episodes will take the story to new areas in Xadia, so enthusiasts can expect exciting new configurations for the characters.
Season 4 will need to answer what now? When it comes to Rayla and Callum, who have completed their mission of bringing the dragon prince, Azymondias, to his mommy. The set of them will probably be significant to the continued conflict between the people and the elves.
