Tacoma FD‘ is an American comedy television series. The series aired on March 28, 2019 on TruTV. It is created by Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme.

The show has two seasons as of now, with a total of 23 episodes. Season 2 premiered on March 26, 2020.


‘Tacoma FD’ stars Kevin Heffernan (Chief Terry McConky), Steve Lemme (Captain Eddie Penisi), Eugene Cordero (Andy Myawani), Hassie Harrison (Lucy McConky), Gabriel Hogan (Ike Crystal) and Marcus Henderson (Granville ‘Granny’ Smith).

Also, all of the aforementioned cast recurs in the succeeding seasons.


‘Tacoma FD’ transpires in a firehouse in Tacoma, Washington. The firefighters are housed in Station 24. Though without many fires to extinguish, the firefighters are always ready to fight fires. However, they end up tackling the less- glamorous elements of the job.

Light on the inferno that needs extinguishing, the squad keeps itself entertained with friendly first responder rivalries, creative competition and bizarre emergency calls.

All in all, its firefighters battling their boredom. A blend of ‘fire’ and life in a sense!

Season one of ‘Tacoma FD’ has an approval rating of 94/100 on Rotten Tomatoes. While on Metacritic, it has a weighted average score of 5.3/10, based on 2 reviews.

Further, season two holds an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Overall, ‘Tacoma FD’ has a rating of 8/10 on IMDb.

Release Date

Since the second season proceeded to become successful than the intended first season, TruTV has renewed the series for a third season. The announcement was made on August 5, 2020.

However, Covid-19 lockdown has made certain locations inaccessible. Thus, changing the filming schedule. Season 3 would miss some of the familiar backgrounds earlier present in the episodes.

If all goes well, the filming would commence in the beginning of 2021. We can expect the release of the third season in the latter half of 2021. The season will have 13 half an hour episodes each.
