Based on the novel of the same name by Sherryl Woods, Sweet Magnolias is an American romantic drama series. The series directed by Sheryl J. Anderson was first announced back in 2018. It finally premiered on Netflix on 19th May, 2020.
The story follows the bond between three women from South Carolina who are best friends since childhood. The women shepherd each other through their unique complexities of romance, career and family.

The first season ended on a big cliff hanger following the car crash. The official renewal announcement on 27th July, 2020 came as a relief to the curious fans.
However, it was Netflix who first let its fans know about the renewal of the series via a twitter post on 23rd July, 2020.
The author of the book, Sherryl Woods has stated that the production would begin in 2021. This makes us anticipate the release date to be by the end of 2021 but that’s just an assumption on our part.
On the show’s renewal, Sheryl Anderson stated,
“I’m thrilled and excited to come back with a cast and a crew that I love so much. It’s such a valentine to everybody who worked so hard to make Serenity such a beautiful place. JoAnna, Brooke, and Heather and I were jumping up and down while texting each other, and we look forward to doing that over Zoom too”
The Plot Of Sweet Magnolias Season 2
The massive crash that took place at the end of the first season was a big cliff-hanger. Kyle was seen to be unconscious but the passenger in the car was never revealed.
Maddie was seen going through a tough time when her ex used her kids as a reason to give their relationship another shot.
Helen who is desperate to have a child, finally split from her on and off boyfriend. So it’ll be interesting what happens after this in her life.
Dana who is trying hard to keep her business running will be facing another issue when she finds out about her estranged son working in her kitchen.
The show is based on a novel series comprising of 11 books. So, there’s plenty of source materials to be brought to the scenes.
So there is a lot of drama yet to be unfolded in the upcoming season which will surely be a treat to its viewers.
