American comedy television series Sherman’s Showcase has been renewed for a second season by the IFC network. Bashir Salahuddin and Diallo Riddle are the creators and hosts of the show. Sherman’s Showcase premiered on July 31, 2019.

The creators Salahuddin and Riddle quoted that, “Sherman McDaniels has been a staple in American culture for almost 50 years and shows no signs of slowing down … or aging at all. We’re thrilled to return to the uniquely nerdy, quirky, silkily soulful and musical world of Sherman’s Showcase. It’s all our favourite things and now it’s on AMC and IFC. Season two’s so big, it needs two networks.”

therefore, the fans do not have to wait for too long till the colourful season airs again.

Plot

The makers described the show as a variety show such as the 1970’s show Soul Train. Sherman’s Showcase is set in the early 1970s and it narrates the story of a retro music and dance TV show. Sherman McDaniels and Dutch Shepherd are the hosts of the show.

The show showcases a bright display of retro-style black pop culture and involves cameos of many celebrity black singers and rappers. The show is quite a spectacular narration of Sherman which includes 40 years of entertainment. Which includes comedy, dance, music and cultural celebration.

Release Date

Sherman’s Showcase aired a “Black History Month Spectacular” which premiered on 19th June 2020 on the IFC and the AMC networks. The makers announced its renewal two days before the special on 17 June, 2020, however, as we all know about the current pandemic situation, IFC delayed the show’s release.

The makers have not disclosed any release date for the show but, the show is all set to return in mid-2021 therefore fans do not have to wait too long for it to air.
