During the Monday Night RAW broadcasts through the USA Network, superstar Drew McIntyre has accepted a challenge from Sheamus after being betrayed in the ring by the latter.
After receiving a warning from the winner of the battle royal Edge, Drew McIntyre received a Rogue Kick from Sheamus in the center of the ring. The Celtic Warrior stated backstage that he did not care about his years of friendship with McIntyre, but that he wanted a shot at the title that he carries with him since Monday Night RAW of November 16, 2020.

Later, Drew McIntyre gave an interview to Charly Caruso to express his opinion regarding this situation. The current owner of the WWE Championship was disappointed, as he could not conceive that his partner of decades has despised his friendship for the title. With eyes filled with sadness, McIntyre agreed to a title match against Sheamus at a date and place to be confirmed soon.
The friendship between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus has developed for several months. The two competitors have shared multiple interactions backstage and in the ring despite having brief differences in their objectives. Sheamus’s betrayal could see him fight for the title in the coming weeks, and most likely in some of the pay-per-views leading up to WrestleMania, such as Elimination Chamber and Fastlane.
