Multiple NXT Superstars have received new names. According to the specialized portal WrestlingInc, WWE has named several of the superstars who joined the Performance Center throughout 2020.
Emily Andzulis, who signed in January 2020 after standing out on the NBC Titan Games show hosted by The Rock, will henceforth be known as Ivy Nile. Adults trained at the Jacobs-Pritchard Academy, owned by Kane and Tom Pritchard. After competing in three house shows of the yellow and black brand, Nile made her debut on NXT television programming on September 23, participating in the battle royal that determined the next contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Additionally, she appeared on an episode of RAW Underground, where she lost to Shayna Baszler.
NXT UK superstar Tony Gill, known as Gurinder Singh during his time at IMPACT Wrestling, where he was part of The Desi Hit Squad, will now be known as Rohan Raja. Gill signed his contract with WWE last October.
WWE has also given new names to the three Indian wrestlers who joined the Performance Center in January 2020. Gurvinder Singh will be known as Dilsher Shanky, while Laxmi Kant Rajpoot has been named after Guru Raaj and Sukhwinder Grewal, that of Giant Zanjeer.
WWE Registered New Names In Late 2020
On December 30, WWE introduced several trademarks that could be the names of new superstars or potential factions. Applications entered the trademark office database on January 4, 2021. According to the Heel By Nature portal, those new trademarks include The Witch, Diamond Mine, The Bridge, Nu Wu, Qi Yue, The Covenanter, Quan Tuo, Qiao Liang, and Ji Lu.
It should be remembered that in the episode of NXT issued yesterday, The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) debuted on the brand as MSK. The couple also received new names. From now on, Xavier will be known as Wes Lee, while Wentz will be Nash Carter.
