During the Elimination Chamber 2021 broadcasts through WWE Network, the superstar Roman Reigns managed to retain the Universal Championship after defeating Daniel Bryan in a heads-up.
This was the second matchup of the recent WWE pay-per-view. After having obtained the victory inside the elimination chamber, Daniel Bryan obtained a shot at the maximum title of “The Big Dog”. Roman Reigns immediately appeared in front of a badly injured Bryan and was surprised with a surrender key after attempting a Spear. He quickly broke the key and chose to apply his Guillotine to completely knock out the leader of the “Yes Movement”.
In this way, Roman Reigns retains the WWE Universal Championship. Recall that “The Big Dog” won the title 175 days ago at the Payback 2020 event. On August 30, Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a No Holds Barred match to obtain the championship for the second time in his career.
Roman Reigns Refused To Defend The Title Inside The Elimination Chamber
On February 12, Adam Pearce approached Roman Reigns to announce an Elimination Chamber match for the Universal Championship. However, the intervention of Paul Heyman on orders of “The Big Dog” caused a last-minute change of plans. After persuading Pearce in front of the cameras, Heyman got his client to agree to face the winner of an elimination camera between six superstars of the blue brand.
