Produced by Cygames Pictures, Princess Connect! Re: Dive is a television anime series adaptation of a smartphone game with the same name. It premiered on 6th April, 2020 in Japan and had a total of 13 episodes.

The anime follows the story of Yuuki, the protagonist who wakes up in an unfamiliar location with no memory. There he gets acquainted with Kokkoro, a companion servant elf girl; Pecorine, an always hungering girl and Kyaru, a mysterious beast. Facing the darkness of Landsol, they formed the guild Gourmet Edifice together and set on a journey.

The series composition at Cygames Pictures was directed and handled by Takaomi Kanasaki. Kana Harufuji was the assistant director. The characters are designed by Satomi Kurita, Lie Jun Yang and Yasuyuki Noda.

A manga adaptation was launched by Asahiro Kakashi and Weshica/Shougo on the Cycomics website in February 2018.

The Expected Release Date Re Dive Season 2

On 13th August, 2020 during a special event celebrating Dive’s 2.5 anniversary, it was announced that the series is under production. A promotional video was posted on the website. It’s not at all surprising that the second season was greenlit for production so soon after the first season. This astounding incident can partially be attributed to the game players of the game with the same name.

The licensee Crunchyroll confirmed the news of renewal with a post published on the official website. Since the average production preparation takes a year, we can say that the upcoming season will be released in 2021.
