We recently reported that according to a WWE would have big plans for a new match between Randy Orton and The Fiend Bray Wyatt that would take place at the next pay-per-view event, Royal Rumble 2021.

In a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer pointed out that Randy Orton’s entry into the Royal Rumble match was a decision to mislead fans. Meltzer added that WWE still has the idea of pitting Orton against The Fiend.

The Fiend in a stipulated match still stands to happen at the Royal Rumble PPV. WWE announced Orton for the 30-man Royal Rumble match, but it was simply all a strategy to distract the fans, albeit as we all know, everything can change when we least expect it, said Dave Meltzer.

On the recent episode of WWE RAW, Randy Orton was shot in the face by Alexa Bliss. That was a segment that caught the attention of fans considerably and was a sign that the rivalry between Orton and The Fiend will continue.
