Alice Braga, the leading actress, has confirmed that she will be leaving the USA Network series to go to Netflix. She was simply tapped to lead a new thriller for the streaming giant.

Alice Braga will join the cast of the thriller film, which will be streaming on Netflix, Ivy.

Her participation in the movie signifies that the first time the Brazilian actress was announced for a new project after Queen of the South, which was completed on Wednesday, June 9.

Braga has all the right tools to portray a mother recovering from a horrific accident, then moving into a brilliant prototype home.

As she realizes how the AI at the house can develop human emotions, the film will quickly descend into chaos.

Braga will be seeing a marked change in pace with Ivy’s science fiction premise. He has spent the past five years portraying Teresa Mendoza, the cartel leader.

Danis Goulet, best known for Night Raiders, a science-fiction thriller set in the future, will direct the streaming movie.

The screenplay was written by Anna Halberg and Screenwriters Spenser Chen, who were also behind Distant, a science fiction horror featuring Anthony Ramos from In the Heights.

Netflix has yet to confirm the release date for Ivy.

Queen of the South fans will be thrilled to see Alice Braga quickly take over the lead role after the series’ end towards the beginning of October.

Also, the new episodes will likely arrive on Netflix sometime in the next year. Streamers can expect to see plenty of streaming content from the star soon.

Season five has been a great success. It ended on a positive note for Teresa Mendoza who was able to fake her death and begin a new life free from drugs and the world with James Valdez (played here by Peter Gadiot).

Even though Ivy was Braga’s first new role after the finale, she has many projects lined up for the next year.

Before Queen of The South’s fifth and final season, she was a key part of Luca Guadagnino’s HBO drama, We Are Who We Are.
