Outlander season six is on the way after Starz was commissioned to return with Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) again in the lead roles.
When will Outlander season 6 be released?
In 2018, Starz announced a double renewal of the popular show ahead of its fifth season. However, since the fifth season has only recently started, not much has been revealed about the exact release date.
The fifth season was delayed from its original air date of late 2019 and only released in February 2020. As a result, fans of the show are concerned that there may be another delay in season six.
However, if all goes according to plan, Outlander season 6 could be released sometime in 2021. Although it seems likely that this is stopped by the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 that closed the television production. Sam Heughan has now given a filming update hinting that they plan to start filming again soon.
Who is in the cast of Outlander season 6?
Fans will be delighted to hear that the show’s top two stars will be returning for season six. This means that viewers will be able to see much more of Sam Heughan as Scottish heartthrob Jamie Fraser.
Caitriona Balfe will also return as his wife Claire Fraser, as the couple will undoubtedly face more dangers in future outings.
While no other cast members have been confirmed, some of the top stars expected to return include Sophie Skelton as her daughter Brianna Randall Fraser, as well as Richard Rankin as her husband Roger Wakefield.
