Starz has commissioned new episodes of the hit time travel drama Outlander, which sees Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) on various adventures.
When will it be issued?
The fifth season of Outlander was delayed from its original air date of late 2019 and only released in February 2020. As a result, fans of the show are concerned that there may be another delay in season six.
If all goes according to plan, the Outlander program could launch sometime in 2021. Although it seems likely that this will be stopped by the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus that shut down television production.
Who will be in the sixth season?
Viewers will be able to see much more of Sam Heughan as Scottish heartthrob Jamie Fraser. Caitriona Balfe will also return as his wife Claire Fraser, as the couple will undoubtedly face more dangers in upcoming Outlander outings.
While other members of the Outlander cast have not been confirmed, some of the top stars expected to return include Sophie Skelton as her daughter Brianna Randall Fraser, as well as Richard Rankin as her husband Roger Wakefield.
What will happen?
Outlander could focus on the sequels to the fifth season, in which Jamie is involved in the American Revolution. This will continue after the fifth book in which political unrest escalated as the Frasers tried to lead peaceful lives.
However, it is not certain that the new season of the show will follow the path of the books. This comes after executive producer Ronald Moore spoke about his approach to the upcoming seasons of the Outlander show.
Is there a trailer?
No, there is no trailer for the new season of Outlander yet as filming has not begun. Before the fifth season, Starz released the trailer four months before its broadcast.
