Outlander Season 6 was confirmed by Starz and fans of the series are brimming with excitement and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the near future of the characters! Here’s what we know so far about the show from its anticipated release date to cast to the plotline.

Release Date

With production just starting — without a guarantee there won’t be more delays down the line — there is not an official release date set yet. If everything stays on schedule, we are likely looking at a late 2021 or early 2022 yield for the sequence. What we do understand is that Season 6 will probably be 12 episodes.

Who Will Be In The Outlander Season 6? Cast & Characters

We are hoping that no major cast member will leave the show anytime soon. Therefore, it usually means that most of the cast contributes to reprise their respective roles. They’re as follows:

  • Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall Fraser
  • Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser
  • Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield
  • Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall

Still, there are speculations of an expected spin-off making rounds online. It is said that fan-favorite Lord John Grey will star inside. It’s because he’s appeared at the film/series adaptation of his own series of books. Actor David Berry also stated that he’ll really be interested in something similar.

What Will Season 6 Be About?

The show (largely ) faithfully follows Diana Gabaldon’s book collection, and thus the sixth season will adapt the sixth publication, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. To start with, that name… Game of Thrones, much? Tell me that does not seem like A Song of Ice and Fire remix. As you might have anticipated from the events of season 5, the story follows Claire and Jamie as they locate themselves low-key on the wrong side of history through the American Revolution. Oops.
