NCSI Season 19

One of the longest-running police procedural shows on American TV is rumored to get a season 19. That is a long way. NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service aired on CBS on 22nd April, 2003. The show did not receive much fan following and ratings initially. The ratings of the show picked up after the third and the sixth season to a large extent. On Harris Poll fans voted NCIS as America’s favorite show.

This show is a spin-off of an already existing police-procedural drama JAG which was also produced by CBS. Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill are co-creators and executive producers of NCIS. The show was also the most talked-about in America. So much so that NCIS got it’s spin-offs named NCIS: Los Angeles and, NCIS: New Orleans.

Plot

The show narrates the story of special agents at the Washington Navy Yard and Washington D.C office. Here the team of NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigation Service’s Major Case Response Team (MCRT) operates. NCIS is a part of an extension of the United States Department of Navy and has the Marine Corps as a part of it. The service team investigates felonies and major crimes related to the Marine Corps and other punishable offenses. The NCSI takes into consideration the violation of the Uniform Code of Military. The point to be noted here is that NCIS is a fictional Naval service. No such service exists in the United States.

Season 18 of the show narrated the cases handled by Gibbs and Fornell. It included a Drugs racket, flashback murder case, opioid leaders, and finding out the reason behind Emily’s drug overdose.

Release Date

Season 18 of the show premiered in November 2020 and is still airing on CBS. Until then the makers have not revealed any updates on season 19. What circulates are just speculations.
