Lost in Space is the reboot of a popular sci-fi series of the same name from 1965. It is based on the novel The Swiss Family Robinson(1812) by Johann Wyss. The show has had quite an impression on sci-fi lovers and has a dedicated fanbase. The show rebooted again in 2018 on Netflix. Producers of the show are Legendary Television, Synthesis Entertainment, Clickety-Clack Productions and Applebox Entertainment.
Plot
Season 2 ended on a major cliffhanger. At the end of Season 2, the ship Resolute had to split up because of an alien robot invasion. They decided on saving the kids and residing in a nearby habitable planet. While all the adults are still on Resolute. Judy Robinson was given charge of the ship Fortuna and the kids. Fortuna made an appearance after been lost for so long. Judy’s biological father, Grant Kelly, has the reigns of this ship. In the season finale, June or Dr. Smith dies fighting the robots.
Season 3 will give a conclusion to all these events. Nobody knows the origin of the alien robots yet. We will most probably be seeing the union of Maureen and John with their kids. Season 3 might end with the coming together of everyone back on Resolute and finding their way back to the Alpha Centauri star system.
Release Date
The series started production in September 2020 and planned to end by January 2021. But we do not know how much the pandemic has affected its production. But Netflix has given it a broad 2021 release. We predict a mid-2021 release.
Netflix also announced that Season 3 will be the last for Lost in Space. This season will give a conclusion to the three-season series. Gear up for conclusions and some massive science-fiction vibes.
Cast
The majority of the cast will be coming back for the season finale. The Robinsons i.e. Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, Toby Stephens as John Robinson, Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson, Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson and Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson will of course be there. Other characters Ignacio Serricchio as Don West and Parker Posey as June Harris/Dr. Smith will also star. Although Dr. Smith dies saving Maureen in Season 2, her body is not show. Hence we expect her to show up in flashbacks in Season 3.
