
Lewis Hamilton is well on his way to equal the record for the maximum number of championship titles with Michael Schumacher. He is now 67 points ahead of his nearest challenger, going strong with 256 championship points.
Lewis Hamilton has broken numerous records. He broke the record for most pole positions in Formula 1. He won the Portuguese GP and broke the record for most wins in Formula 1. It’s certain that he’s also eying to break the record for most World Championships. In another intriguing factoid, Lewis Hamilton has won in 28 out of the 32 Formula 1 circuit he’s raced at.
Buddh International Circuit- A thorn at Lewis Hamilton’s side
Out of these 32 circuits, Lewis Hamilton has failed to win on 4 of them. Namely, Buddh International Circuit in India, Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in France, Valencia Street Circuit in Spain, and the Korea International Circuit in Korea. But, Hamilton has managed to acquire a podium in each one of these places except for Buddh International Circuit, India.
Hamilton managed a podium in the 2007 French Grand Prix ending at P3. Additionally, in addition, he managed a podium in the 2010 and the 2011 Korean Grand Prix finishing in P2. He even handled a P2 at Valencia Street Circuit for 3 consecutive years in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
However, the British powerhouse failed to clinch a podium finish throughout the 3 events where the Indian circuit fielded the paddock. Formula 1 seen the Grand Prix for 3 successive years, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Hamilton finished at P7, P4, and P6 respectively. He’s become a dominating force since the onset of the hybrid.
Lewis Hamilton has been completely unmatched over the course of the past few seasons. Perhaps the FIA needs to bring the Indian Grand Prix back to the fold; therefore it seems just like the Buddh International Circuit is Lewis’ kryptonite.
