Hamilton: Mercedes begin Lewis Hamilton is fairly daring when it comes to expressing his opinion. He supports the causes he feels is not a man or woman who will do something for the sake of doing it. In essence, force can’t alter the way he thinks.
As such, prior to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Hamilton told Ziggosport,
“Firstly, I don’t feel that like I ‘need ‘to do anything. I don’t ‘have’ to be here, I don’t ‘have’ to be at this race.
“I’m here because I want to be here. Because I love being here.”
This only goes on to show how much racing signifies to Hamilton. Closing on a seventh world title, having demonstrated all that he has to, he could only call it a day (really, he alluded to the fact following the race). However, his love for the game is what keeps him going.

The same was the situation with the legendary Michael Schumacher. Having won seven names, he hung up his boots in 2006. However, the lure of racing was too strong to withstand for a guy with F1 pumping in his veins. So, he came back for another stint.
It shows the type of mentality that these super-successful drivers have.
An additional sign of a champion’s mentality can be understood at Hamilton’s other announcements throughout the interview.
Lewis Hamilton not satisfied by edging teammate to pole positions in qualifying
While the races might not suggest so, Hamilton has been put under immense pressure by teammate Valtteri Bottas in qualifying.
Although the stats may not reflect that, contemplating Bottas has been on pole only four occasions in 13 races, Hamilton has, more frequently than not, edged his teammate from the barest of margins. This doesn’t satisfy the ever-demanding character of Lewis.
He said, “When I look back at those times, they were too close. They were not good enough because I believe that I have a certain amount of extra time in me.
“But it’s honestly, just never giving up, never believing it’s over. It’s down to feel, just pushing to the limit and trying to put all the pieces of a puzzle together in a rush.”
Hamilton’s following puzzle-solving endeavors will be understood in Turkey. The Mercedes man just needs 18 points to secure his seventh Drivers’ Championship.
Could he equivalent Schumacher’s album next weekend? Or can his enemies throw a spanner in the works? We’ll find out on November 15.
