Julie and the Phantoms is among those shows on Netflix still awaiting a renewal despite lots of fan pressure across the web. Is Julie along with the Phantoms season 2 happening at Netflix? Why is it taking so long? Here is what we know.
The series is helmed by Kenny Ortega who was poached from Disney (famous for Descendents and High School Musical) and operates with Netflix within an outcome bargain that was struck back in April 2019.
Season 1 of Julie and the Phantoms dropped on Netflix on September 10th, 2020 internationally and is an American version of this Brazillian series Julie e os Fantasmas. The show stars Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Owen Patrick Joyner, Jeremy Shada, and Jadah Marie.
How has the series performed? No official seeing stats are announced but the show has featured at the top 10s in countries like the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, and Canada. In the USA, the show appeared at stake 5. Emily Horgan, an independent media analyst published a post for us that says the series is Netflix’s best effort at a children franchise so far.
Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 release date
It is hard to say when the next season will arrive, especially since there isn’t a renewal just yet. It usually takes 14 weeks roughly between seasons, but we are likely looking at a longer delay as a result of the dearth of renewal.
It is going to likely require 12–14 weeks for all phases of production to happen. If the renewal comes this month, we’re looking at May 2022 at the earliest for a release date. We are going to know more about this when the renewal happens.
Julie and the Phantoms Plot
“Julie and the Phantoms” follows the life of a high school girl named Julie who lost her mother only a year ago. She was very enthusiastic about music, but following the catastrophe, she’d seemingly lost it. But one day, as she was in her mother’s old studio, an anomaly occurs. Three ghosts of dreamy musicians from 1995 look before Julie. With the assistance of these ghosts, she can rediscover her love for music as she begins singing as well as writing songs again. As she builds a friendship with all the ghosts, they convince her to create a new band with them, called Julie and the Phantoms.
