On the latest episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross spoke about the potential for AEW to introduce the Trios Championships. Ross mentioned that in the early ’90s, WCW had those titles and it was a great asset to talent. Also, he noted that if the company introduced them, they would have a large division that could give great fights.
Trios titles on AEW would be brilliant, stated Jim Ross. Currently, from my point of view, I can safely say that the company has a great trios division which I am sure would have great matches, which they already do, but if you put a Championship in between, it is a greater incentive.
I think AEW wants to keep growing, and introducing a Championship like these would be a huge change for both the superstars and the fans. I suppose that if it happens, I don’t think it affects the division by pairs. We have many teams and many could be improved just by adding a new member, said Jim Ross
AEW Would Have A Great Trios Division
If AEW finally introduces the Trios Championships, it would already have a large division, for the moment made up of trios such as The Elite, Death Triangle, The Inner Circle, The Dark Order, Jurassic Express, Team Taz, Best Friends, and Orange Cassidy or The Butcher, The Blade and Eddie Kingston among others. Now with the alliance with IMPACT Wrestling and NJPW, they would have more team variants.
