Jared Leto’s participation as Joker in Suicide Squad (2016) is considered one of the worst appearances of the crime clown in films by critics and audiences.

Three years after Squadron, Joaquim Phoenix took over the character in Joker (2019) and won the Oscar for Best Actor for his magnificent interpretation of the great villain of Gotham.

At the time, there were reports that Leto was furious at being put aside in favor of the Phoenix film and went personally to Warner Bros. to try to prevent the spin-off.

After all this situation, Zack Snyder decided to bet on Jared again, as Joker and convinced him to participate in his new version of Justice League.

“It was a nice conversation because, when I came up with the idea, I feel that he stuck to the ‘whys’, and said ‘okay’. And literally, he said to me ‘we’ll talk more’. I insisted on continuing to call him and we talked for a while until finally, he agreed to participate ”.

It is worth remembering that Leto was not in the original feature, which may indicate interest by director Snyder to include more unpublished material than expected.

According to the, We Got This Covered website, Leto’s Joker will look different from what we saw in the Suicide Squad movie and will be involved in three scenes.

Since the release of Justice League in 2017, fans have been begging for this version of Zack Snyder for the feature.

During the recording, the director had to leave control of the film after the death of his daughter, who committed suicide in her teens. With that, Warner Bros. invited Joss Whedon ( The Avengers and The Avengers: Age of Ultron ) to be the new director of the project.

Whedon re-recorded dozens of scenes, completely changing the work. The result did not please the fans, who made a tough campaign for the studio to release the original version of Snyder. And they ended up being served!

To be continued

If nothing changes, after his appearance in the new version of Justice League, Jared Leto will be able to remain in the DC Cinematic Universe for a long time.

According to journalist Daniel Richtman, the star is tipped for a role in Wonder Woman 3 but offered no further details on how the Joker would be involved in the story.

As reported, Diana Prince’s third solo adventure is set to take place these days.
