BCCI(MUMBAI): The selection committee meeting to select the Indian team for the tour of Australia is now occurring now. Sunil Joshi led selection committee will fit virtually to select Indian group for both 3T20, 3odi’s, and 4 game test series. Because of Covid-19 protocols and travel constraints, the selectors will choose a jumbo-sized contingent composed of red-ball and white-ball pros together with potential replacements.

The size of this squad could exceed 30 and it’s expected that a contingent of over 50 members will board the flight in Dubai for Australia on November 12.

Hardik Pandya will be picked up or not?

Hardik Pandya as reported earlier going to be the biggest talking point in the selection committee meeting. Hardik has not bowled in IPL. It’s being reported that Pandya was bowling in the nets using a re-modeled action.

But if he isn’t accessible to bowl around the Australia tour, Pandya is very likely to be dismissed for the 50-over and Test side. For lack of options, Vijay Shankar, who’s performed well in the last few matches in the IPL, also Shivam Dube can make it to the restricted overs teams.

The significant issue before the selectors will be the fitness of the players. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma is already from IPL 2020 due to accidents and is likely to stay out of the Australia tour as well. Another big concern is harm to Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai Indians captain has missed out on two IPL games because of a recurring hamstring injury and his fitness will be of key concern to the selectors. Amid all injuries and worries, there is very likely to be more cheer for Mumbai Indians Surya Kumar Yadav. He’ll eventually get a look at the limited-overs team after performing consistently over recent years. Fantastic news will also knock on the doors of Mohammad Siraj who has bowled his heart out for RCB in continuing IPL.

Siraj is very likely to be picked for many 3 squads. The selectors are very likely to try out his other India’A’ teammates like Sandeep Warrier & Ishan Porel or Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti, instead of the injured pacers. To get a wicketkeeping role in all 3 squads — KL Rahul & Rishabh Pant will be the first and second choice of selectors. For the third wicketkeeper from the group, it will be thrown up between Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan.
