Team India has to play a four-Test series against Australia from December 17. The biggest difficulty in Team Australia for Team India is the return of captain Virat Kohli back to India after the first Test. Apart from this, the exit of two Test players of the legendary players like Rohit and Ishant has also become a new problem for Team India. Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has warned that India may face a 0–4 defeat in the Test series against Australia.
Clarke warned that if the Indian team does not achieve the rhythm in the limited overs series before captain Virat Kohli returns home, then he can lose the Test series 0-4. Kohli has been granted paternity leave by the BCCI for the birth of their first child. He will return home after leading India in a series of three ODIs and as many T20 matches and then the first Test in Adelaide.
Clarke said, “Virat Kohli can lead and lead in one-day and T20 matches. If India did not achieve success in ODIs and T20s, then they would be in deep trouble in Test matches and from my point of view they would have to lose 0-4.
Jasprit Bumrah Role Will Be Important
Clarke believes that despite playing in just one Test, the charismatic Indian captain can play a big role in the outcome of the Test series by dominating the limited overs series. He said, “I think the rhythm he will give to this team will play a big role on his departure after the first Test.”
The ODI series will begin in Sydney from November 27 between the two best teams of the world. Clarke, captain of Australia’s World Cup winning team, said that Jasprit Bumrah’s role in this series will be important and this star fast bowler will have to pressure the host team by bowling aggressively.
Clarke also said that Bumrah has succeeded in upsetting opener David Warner and he has the ability to upset star batsman Steve Smith as well.
India created history by winning the Test series for the first time in Australia in 2018-19. In that series, however, the hosts were without their star batsmen Smith and Warner, who were suspended in 2018 due to their role in the ball tampering case.
