  • Open Zoom client on the desktop.
  • Click on the Settings icon on the top-right side.
  • Tap on Background & Filters from the left sidebar.
  • Here, you will see Virtual Backgrounds and Video Filters.
  • Under Virtual Backgrounds, click on Blur.

Done, you have successfully blurred the background in your video meeting. Close the Settings and join a meeting and the setting will be applied.

During an Ongoing Meeting

If you have already joined a meeting and want to blur the background. Here’s how you can blur the background in an ongoing meeting.

  • In the meeting, click on the up-facing arrow next to the Stop Video option.
  • Select Choose Virtual Background… from the given options.
  • Now, tap on Blur under Virtual Backgrounds.

Done, the blur effect will be automatically applied to your video call in the meeting. You can also revert to the original background if don’t like the effect.

Add a Photo in the Background

  • Click on the plus (+) icon and select the blurred image you have clicked.
