Lin-Manuel Miranda has stated that he would love to return for the third season of His Dark Materials. The next season of HBO’s dream drama television show had its season finale on December 28 and left most fans eager for the next and final season, which had been given the green light earlier this week. The series follows Lyra Belacqua, played by Dafne Keen of Logan fame. It starts in a universe where individuals have animal companions known as daemons, visible manifestations of their souls. Lyra soon discovers a conspiracy between her parents, such as kidnapping and an unidentified material referred to as’Dust.’
Lin-Manuel Miranda has stated he would love to go back for the next season of His Dark Materials. The next season of HBO’s fantasy drama television show had its season finale on December 28 and left most fans excited for the next and last year, which had been given the green light earlier this week. The show follows Lyra Belacqua, played with Dafne Keen of Logan fame. It begins in a world where individuals have animal companions known as daemons, observable manifestations of their souls. Lyra soon discovers a conspiracy involving her parents, such as kidnapping along with an unknown substance referred to as’Dust.’
Miranda stated that he would really like to return to the area of His Dark Materials for now three, even if his character had passed away during one of their first important battles. After being asked if Scoresby and Hester would reunite after death like from the next publication, Miranda stated:
“Nothing has been written in stone or finalized, but I’ve always told them this is enormous fun for me and that I serve at the pleasure of Bad Wolf Productions. If they see fit for Lee and Hester to return in corporeal or non-corporeal form, I’ll answer the call. But they just got the green light, so I don’t even understand just how much exists and can be composed yet.”
In the third book of the series, The Amber Spyglass, Scoresby returns as a ghost to help Lyra and Will fulfill their objectives, finally fighting in the war and fighting creatures called specters that consume the spirits of adult people. This is the reason Miranda brings up a “non-corporeal type,” which can be insinuating that the only way his personality could return to the storyline is because of a ghost. Regrettably, in the television show, Lyra has not yet learned of Scoresby’s death, and this will most probably be a major plot point early on in the next season.
The next season of this HBO series is going to be the most expansive and impressive yet, having Lyra’s father, the illustrious Lord Asriel, played with the legendary James McAvoy, direct an all-out war against the key antagonists, known as the Magisterium. Scoresby has a significant part in the war and Lyra’s character arc, that already started in the season finale she feels himself changing. And even though Scoresby can’t return because Miranda is a workhorse who’s continually juggling some projects, he has impacted the show greatly and created a memorable personality. Season two of His Dark Materials begins production in 2021.
