Henry Cavill has shared a brand new Geralt teaser for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s The Witcher, offering a few quick glimpses for fans to theorize around as we anticipate the series’ return to the streamer.
Last week a teaser containing our first appearance at Ciri in Season 2 was also released during Netflix’s Geeked Week, along with the news that Netflix and CD PROJEKT RED would be hosting a WitcherCon event the following month. On July 9, the worldwide virtual party of this popular franchise is going to be streamed on Netflix’s and CD PROJEKT RED’s YouTube and Twitch stations and will be available for co-streaming.
Based on the best-selling fantasy collection, The Witcher is an epic story of destiny and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where individuals often prove more wicked than beasts. But when fate hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three needs to learn how to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
The series stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, and Joey Batey as Jaskier.
Season 2 will present a handful of new characters portrayed by Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones), Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve), Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders), Yasen Atour (Young Wallender), Agnes Bjorn, Basil Eidenbenz (Fast and Furious 9), Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl), Media Simson (Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model) and much more.
The Witcher series is based on the stories and books by Andrzej Sapkowski. Creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich functions as executive producer and showrunner for The Witcher. Sean Daniel executive produces underneath his Sean Daniel Company together with his spouse Jason Brown. Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Image also executive produce.
The series is scheduled to make its return this season.
