It can be said that Gordon Hayward had no luck at the Boston Celtics. The forward came to the franchise as one of its great players in the summer of 2017 alongside  Kyrie Irving, but a terrifying ankle injury on debut ended up costing him his first season. Once he returned, he never managed to be the same.

Hayward went from being the second most important player in the squad to, at times, being one more. In addition, Gordon was not helped by incessant injuries as he seemed to pick up his pace, which is why he decided to accept a million-dollar offer from Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets and change of scene at an important moment in his career.

It can be said that Hayward lived more moments of suffering than satisfaction in the Boston Celtics, something that is not happening to him in the Hornets. The forward found his best version again and is being a key player for the franchise, as well as one of the best of the current NBA season.

Gordon Hayward charged against the Boston Celtics

“It has been a lot of fun playing with my new teammates and under this coaching staff,” the player began in dialogue with ClutchPoints, in a phrase that some took that was a hint towards his former team.

Was Hayward okay?

The second sentence was not long in coming and can also be understood as a message to the Boston Celtics: “I’m having a great time. When the basketball is moving and you get wide shots and easy baskets it’s just fun. I have great teammates who can really pass the ball, “he concluded.
