The ABC medical drama will probably be back, but it won’t be the same.
Good Doctor fans, get ready to scrub back in at St. Bonaventure Hospital — season 5 is officially happening.
Over the last season, relationships have been in the middle of the hit ABC medical drama. Shaun (Freddie Highmore) and Lea (Paige Spara) have grown closer through their mutual love and despair. Meanwhile, Claire (Antonia Thomas) got the opportunity to reconnect with her estranged father. Park (Will Yun Lee) and Morgan (Fiona Gubelmann) are still trying to figure out how to coexist, although it looks like Lim (Christina Chang) might have found love.
Given that there is never a dull day at the fictional San Jose-based hospital, we can not wait to find out what happens next. If you’re in the same boat, here’s what we know about season 5 of The Good Doctor:
When is the Good Doctor Season 5 is going to stream?
Good Doctor Season 5 will flow behind time this fall on ABC. The 5th hire buy would launch on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET. Upfront the fourth season finale, the medical show declared the thrilling information on the social network.
The Good Doctor Season 5 Cast
The cast of the fifth season will look pretty different than in the past. Longtime cast member Antonia Thomas (who plays with Dr. Claire Browne) is leaving the string at the end of Season 4. “I think we have run the gamut of different things that Claire could have gone, and I’m now very excited to explore different creative chances,” Thomas told the socket. She said she’d be open to potentially returning as a guest star in the long run, but for now, fans might need to say goodbye in the Season 4 finale.
In Thomas’s absence, some of the additional characters will be transferred up to series regulars. TV Line reported that Noah Galvin and Bria Samoné Henderson (who perform with surgical residents Dr. Asher Wolke and Dr. Jordan Allen) have had their contracts from recurring guest stars to show regulars. Additionally, Deadline reported that Osvaldo Benavides’ character Dr. Mateo Rendón Osma has also been produced a series regular for Season 5. Dr. Mateo was introduced in the series’ two-part Season 4 finale for a trauma surgeon operating in Guatemala. He has already had a bit of a romantic spark with Dr. Audrey Lim, so fans can likely expect that to be researched in Season 5.
