The FOX network has announced the return of the brand new winner of the WWE Royal Rumble 2021, Edge, to what was his home: SmackDown. Next Friday, the former world champion will make an appearance at the blue show with his eyes set on choosing his rival for WrestleMania 37. Since his return last year, Edge had only appeared on Raw.
An advertising cut during the last edition of WWE Monday Night Raw announced that Edge and Bianca Belair would be in the blue program to continue looking for their rival for WrestleMania. Later, the WWE account on FOX confirmed Edge’s return to SmackDown.
2021 WWE Royal Rumble Champion Edge returns to the brand that he has dominated for many years, explained FOX’s tweet. Despite not being announced on social networks, Bianca Belair will also be at the Friday show to decide her WrestleMania rival.
It should be remembered that rumors suggest that Edge will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, as reported by journalist Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter. Reigns won the victory over Kevin Owens to retain the belt at Royal Rumble in a Last Man Standing match.
