During the NXT broadcast via USA Network the winner of the Royal Rumble 2021 Edge made a guest appearance on the black and gold mark for the first time in his career.
Following the announcement that Pete Dunne will face Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at TakeOver: Vengeance Day, The Rated R Superstar interrupted both competitors to remind them that by winning Royal Rumble this year, you have the opportunity to compete against any WWE champion.
He then turned to Dunne, saying it reminds him a lot of the good and bad decisions he has made throughout his career. And about the current NXT champion, Edge assured that he is taking the title to a completely different level than he had seen and it is special to see. Finally, the Royal Rumble winner warned that he was very interested in the NXT title, a championship that he had never had, and depending on what will happen at the next TakeOver, it could be crucial for his final decision heading into WrestleMania 37.

When he was leaving the Capitol Wrestling Center, the cameras stop Edge and ask him if he had decided on his match at WrestleMania 37. Edge replied that his decision had not yet been made and was immediately interrupted by Carrion Kross. The former NXT champion stressed that he wants to regain his title and wants a future fight with the winner of the next TakeOver. Edge, without feeling intimidated by Carrion, stressed to him that those threats motivated him to get back in a ring and that he is not afraid to defend his position against whoever it is.
