During the transmission of NXT through the USA Network, the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic took place. The debuting team MSK, consisting of West Lee formerly known as Dezmond Xavier and Nash Carter former Zackary Wentz defeated Jake Atlas and Isaiah Swerve Scott.
The fight between both teams was announced during the NXT broadcast. MSK had great control of the fight, finishing off their attacks with a Hot Fire Flames followed by a combination of Neckbreaker and Backbreaker to claim victory in a few minutes.
In the next round, MSK will face the winner of the fight between Curt Stallion and Austin Gray vs Drake Maverick and Killian Dain.
Nash Carter and West Lee signed with WWE on December 2, 2020, after ending nearly three years of their contract with Impact Wrestling. Together with Trey Miguel, they formed the team known as The Rascalz that also worked together in promoters such as AAW, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla The Wrestling Revolver among others.
