NBC has yet to release the exact date for season eight in 2019. However, the NBC people officially disclosed that season eight would be available in 2021. The final date is now 12 August 2021. The last season will consist of approximately ten episodes and will last between five and six weeks.

The majority of the major characters are expected to return for the second season. Andy Samberg plays Jake Peralta as detective, Terry Crews as Terry Jeffords, and Joe Lo Truglio (Charles Boyle) as Amy Santiago. Stephanie Beatriz is Rosa Diaz.
