Rosie Perez, an Academy Award nominee, played the character in Birds of Prey. This would be the character’s debut appearance in Arrowverse continuity.

Renee Montoya has been added to the batwoman the direction of season 3 is open to many possibilities. Ryan Wilder could use the character as a possible love interest for Batwoman. It is similar to Kate Kane’s relationship with detective Maggie Swayer. Montoya is a former love interest of Kate Kane. The comics also have a precedent for Montoya in a relationship. Montoya’s history as The Question may open the possibility for the original Question being present in Arrowverse continuity. It would tie in with the series’ theme about legacy and taking on the mantles and roles of past heroes. In either case, Gotham now has a new hero.
