The Canadian TV show Anne with an E might make a comeback with a Season 4 as per rumors. The show is adapted from Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 classic work of children’s literature, Anne of Green Gables and was created by Moira Walley-Beckett for CBC. The coming of age periodic drama has been well received by the audience and the critics with an IMDB rating of 8.7.

Plot So Far
The story revolves around a thirteen-year-old orphan named Anne Shirley in 1896. Anne is adopted by aging siblings Marilla and Mathew Cuthbert who own a farm named Green Gables and decides to adopt a boy who will help them with the farm. When Mathew reaches the train station he finds a 13-year-old girl named Anne Shirley, Mathew immediately accepts her but his sister does not like her as a girl wouldn’t be as helpful. Anne is later accused by Marilla of stealing her brooch and is set back to the Orphanage. The Brooch is later found by Marilla and she sends Mathew to get Anne back home as she is innocent.
Anne is accepted into the family and adopts their name too. She attends school, embraces womanhood and saves their family from the financial crisis. She is a cheerful and talkative girl who is of an imaginative adventure.
In season three Anne wishes to know more about her lineage on her 16th birthday and visits her orphanage to get details along with a supervisor. Anne and Gilbert fall for each other and she gets accepted to Queen’s College.
The Release Date For Season 4
Netflix had decided to cancel Anne with an E after the third season. But fans showed their undivided support for the show and started a Change.org petition to save it which received 1.5 million signatures. There were billboards bought by fans in Canada and Texas to “save Anne with an E”. But, unfortunately none of this could change the decision of the makers to bring back the show and Netflix is firm with their decision.
