‘Alita Battle Angel ’is a cyberpunk action film based on Japanese Manga Yukito Kishiro’s 1990s series Battle Angel Alita. The movie is directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron. Action flicked was released on 14th February 2019 in the United States of America by 20th Century Fox. Alita Battel Angel is the first film produced by Lightstrom Entertainment after Avatar and the last film released by 20th Century Fox before the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney. The film is available for streaming in India exclusively on Disney Plus Hotstar and has an IMDB rating of 7.3/10.

The film features Rosa Salazar in titular as Alita, using performance-capture animation. Other characters include Christoph Waltz as Dr. Dyson Ido, Jennifer Connelly as Dr. Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Tanji, Eiza González as Nyssiana, Casper Van Dien as Amok, Jeff Fahey as McTeague, Idara Victor as Nurse Gerhad, and Rick Yune as Master Clive Lee.
The Plot Of Alita: Battle Angel 2
The story begins in the year 2563, 300 years after ‘The Fall’ war, Dr. Ido finds a disembodied female cyborg in the scarps of the Iron City and he attaches a new body to her and names her ‘Alita’ after his deceased daughter. She has an intact female brain but awakens with no memory of who she is or what she does which leave leaves her devastated. Soon she befriends Hugo and meets Dr. Chiren, Dr.Ido’s estranged wife. Alita is then introduced to Motorball, a racing sport of cyborgs.
One night Alita and Dr.Ido are troubled by a gang of cyborg serial killers which are led by Grewishka, Alita bravely fights them using “Panzer Kunst” a lost form of cyborg martial art while Dr.Ido is injured. Alita realizes that she can find out about her past and her life’s purpose through fighting and pursues to become a bounty hunter or a Hunter-warrior, to the dismay of Dr.Ido.
Alita eventually does discover the reason for her existence and the second movie seems to expand on Alita’s future endeavors.
The Release Date Of Alita: Battle Angel 2
On the release date there is good news for the fans of the action cyberpunk. Directors James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez have hinted that the film could lead to multiple sequels. On February 6, 2019, they announced that they have plans for Alita: Battle Angel 2 in the future.
The release date is yet to be announced by the makers, but what seems like there is a sequel coming up by mid-2021.
