Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Universal Championship against Adam Pearce at Royal Rumble 2021. The veteran fighter was the last participant in the Gauntlet Match that was held on Friday Night SmackDown and, just before he entered the scene, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso attacked Shinsuke Nakamura, his opponent. Refusing to iron his rival, Pearce received a Superkick from Jey and was dragged towards Japan to achieve victory by the count of three.
Pearce has released a message to Roman Reigns through his Twitter account which has declared that e sta is your last chance to cancel the fight. Otherwise, consider that this will be a stain on the history of the Universal Championship and on the legacy of Roman Reigns.
Roman, this is not the way I wanted to get your attention. But considering that I have not been able to contact anyone this week and that tomorrow is already Friday, this is your last chance. You know I think this is all ridiculous. What happened last week, everything that was said putting myself in a match against you at Royal Rumble I’m not sure how we got to this point, but now we’re here and once again you ask that you put an end to this game that you end this farce.
This does not mean that I am afraid to face you. This match is not good for you, it is not good for the Universal Championship, and actually, it is not good for me. I have spent my day lying in the sun and I loved it. I am completely focused on my work and I am very happy with the work that I do. Part of my job is making tough decisions. Roman, I’ve never been afraid of anything. I’ve never been afraid to go down in the mud, Roman.
I’m not backing down. I’m just asking you to reconsider this. Don’t think of me, think of yourself and, most importantly your legacy. I am not afraid that you will hurt me. I’m worried that every minute this charade goes on, you’re tainting your legacy. You are the leader of the dressing room. You have proclaimed yourself the leader and I believe in you. Many times I have used you as an example to follow. This is Roman Reigns again because the Roman I saw on Friday and the man I’m going to see tomorrow is not the man I’ve always admired. Please think about this Roman. Think about this.
