Australia’s limited-overs team captain Aaron Finch admitted that his selection in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) auction was not surprising. However, he also said that it would not be bad to spend some time at home.
In the IPL 2020 played in the United Arab Emirates, Finch played 268 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore at an average of just 22.3. He was able to score more than 50 runs only once. Not only this, he could not leave an impact even in the Big Bash League (BBL). He scored just 179 runs in 13 innings at an average of 13.76 for the Melbourne Renegades.
“It would have been nice to play again,” Finch told reporters ahead of the first T20 International against New Zealand. It is a great competition but to be honest, my selection was not surprising.
He added, “I would have loved to play cricket, but spending some time at home is not a bad thing. We have a busy schedule especially from August, when we leave for Britain. Will spend some time in isolation and spend a lot of time in a bio-safe environment. ”
Finch continued, “I think it might be good to remodel yourself by staying at home.” I know that my wife will be excited about this. “
