Why "13 REASON WHY" Won't Get Another Season

After being riddled with controversy for its first two seasons and giving back to back four super hit seasons, the makers of 13 Reasons Why seemingly aiming at a fourth season. The show is based on the book of the same name by Jay Asher and created by Brian Yorkey and produced by Joseph Incaprera. The teen drama premiered March 31, 2017, on Netflix worldwide.

Plot

The story revolves around the lives of teenagers at the Liberty High. In season one, Clay Jensen receives a parcel that contains thirteen tapes in it which was sent to him by now deceased Hannah Baker who was Clay’s school friend and crush. In those tapes Hannah narrates the thirteen reasons why she committed suicide, exposing every person to directly or indirectly cause her harm.
In the second season, Hannah’s parents have launched a lawsuit against the High school after finding the tapes and work hard to attain justice for their only daughter. Each person mentioned in those tapes are called for trial and more dark secrets of the teens come to surface including drugs and rape. This season concluded a school student named Tyler attempts to massacre the school after being graphically assaulted but is talked down by Clay.
The third season focuses on the recovery of Tyler with the help of clay after the attempted massacre. During Liberty High’s home coming game, there is a visible tension between students which ends up in the murder of Bryce Walker (who also raped Hannah in season 1) and everyone points at Clay for being the main suspect.
In season four, Clay is suffering from severe mental health deteriorated due to the happenings of the previous four seasons. The football team of the school beats up Clay to reveal the truth about Bryce’s death and the school’s administration ends up taking stricter measure for security.

Release Date

Currently, 13 reasons why doesn’t seem to be coming back for a season 4 which is utterly disheartening for the fans of the teen thriller drama.
Also, Netflix had stated that season four came to a “logical end point” and hence, a season five will not be made.
