I'm about to begin on a large software project and I have decided to use Ant to build it. It came to my attention that Jikes is a faster compiler and I would like to know what advantages/disadvantages are with using it instead of the standard javac.exe. (By the way, what do they call the javac.exe compiler?).
Would it not be as simple as changing the build.compiler property if I was not happy with my current compiler, assuming that its already installed?
