I am having trouble trying to get to grips with JNDI, I am still unsure how to get a service provider such as LDAP and how to implement it. Could some on show me an example of how to get hold of a service provider and maybe provide an example of how to use JNDI to locate a file on your local system.

Thanks for your help brothers and sister.

You can get an ldap service provider from WWW.openldap.com
You just need to set up the configuration of the ldap by
editing the slapd.conf file which comes with the ldap.
There is administration guide on that site also which will
help you set it up. I will run in the background while you
are using JNDI, which plugs in whenever you run your
programs. I'd suggest going to this website for a tutorial
on JNDI http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/tutorial/
Sorry for the late reply, best of luck
