Maybe that question sounds stupid but how JMX refers to JDMK (or how JDMK refers to JMX).

I plan to write some agents, distribute them on resources, and than manage them. At first I found JDMK could help me with that (unfortunately it is not free), but recently I found JMX, and I don't know if I can use only that.

If there is some misunderstandings of management subject in JAVA in this post, please notify me,

JDMK is Sun's commercial implementation of the JMX technology (plus some additional management services).

Sun also distributes a Refererence Implementation of JMX (JMX RI)
