I'm using IDEA 2.5.2 Build#547 - March 4 2002
Running against JDK 1.3beta

While editing the source I don't see the caret at all.. I have the blinking set for 500ms (default).. caret foreground set for 'black' (default).

These are all default settings that came with IDEA..

When you don't see the caret..its really frustrating .. totally un usable. Any help appreciated.

I don't think it's an IDEA issue. Try using a non-beta JDK -- it's been out too long to still use a beta version...
