There a lots of patterns for OOAD. UML is just a language
to display the patterns in a standarized diagrammatic form.
There is no thing like a best pattern for OOAD.
Each pattern is for a particular domain of problems.
However the patterns are nothing but experiences, of people
like us who have solved similar problems using a consistent approach for the solutions.
They were just more wise, to put them paper, now called patterns.
There are lotsa patterns as told earlier.
For a good introduction to the patterns, refer the url

you question makes no sense. each pattern solves a particular design problem and is useful in specific situation. your job is to identify these situations in your architecture and apply these patterns to your application.
