I want to write Printer Control Codes directly to parallel (or serial) port, to change the default printer setting.(instead of changing from the printer panel).

how can I do that from a Java program? Please help.

The Java COMM API allows you access to parallel / serial ports.

Since the printer properties are OS Dependent, you must use JNI. Check for information on java.sun.com
